Now here’s a wine you won’t see too often in the Northwest. What a shame. Upon first sip of our 2013 Walla Walla Valley Zinfandel, you’ll find yourself wondering why the Californians seem to have such a monopoly on this delicious varietal. In true Zinfandel fashion, this wine’s impact lies in its huge, juicy, expressively fruity core. Where it distinguishes itself from the overly ripe Zins of Southern California is in its more elegant balance of acid and lower alcohol. No need to worry about feeling sloshed after a single glass. This one leaves you lucid enough to dwell on nuances such as leather, graphite, freshly ground coffee, and bacon fat; all the while savouring the pronounced sweet plum and dried cherry notes that dominate the mid palate.
